Joshua Barlow,
Owner of J Barlow & Family Funeral Service

When it comes to providing comfort and support during one of the most difficult times in life, Simon stands out as a truly compassionate and dedicated funeral celebrant. From the moment he steps in, Simon brings a sense of calm and understanding that families need as they navigate their grief.
Simon has a remarkable ability to listen with empathy, ensuring that each family's wishes and needs are met with the utmost care and respect. He takes the time to understand the unique stories of those who have passed, weaving their memories into a beautiful service. Simon’s warmth and professionalism provide a comforting presence, making a challenging time a little easier to bear.
We are incredibly grateful for the way Simon cares for the families we serve, and we couldn’t ask for a more dedicated celebrant to help us honor the lives of those who have passed.
I wanted to write to you today, to express my thanks for your guidance and support throughout the arrangements for Linda’s service.

Firstly , I have to say that the structure of the service was perfect. The use of the technology available worked so very well. I particularly loved the period of reflection to share the photos we selected showing different periods of Linda’s life.

You have an assured manor Simon, and I found it so supportive to glance up and see your nod of support during those periods when emotions were so very high.
Thank you Simon.

I can highly recommend Simon Thompsett for his exceptional services as a funeral celebrant.

Simon is able to craft and deliver truly outstanding funeral ceremonies, making the final tribute heartfelt and memorable. Simon takes his time with families, to get to know them and to create a service like he has known the families loved one for a long time. His genuine compassion and attention to details what helps the families feel supported and listened to.

Simon helps to guide the families on the day of the funeral and always arrives ahead of time to ensure everything is in place and ready, and to ensure that the first person arriving has someone to greet them.
I am confident that Simon's professionalism, attention to detail, and empathetic nature will gratefully benefit your families during their time of need.
We have been blessed to be able to work alongside Simon, and have him help us to look after our families.
We all wanted to pass on our heartfelt thanks for Mum’s service on Wednesday. It was touching to see so many people there, and everyone commented on how lovely and fitting the service was - which was in no small part down to you.
You helped make a tough day into a positive one so thank you once again.

Jayne Ratcliffe,
Funeral Arranger at Murray’s Funeral Directors
As a Funeral Arranger when meeting with our families I always try to match a Celebrant with a family.

On meeting Simon that first time when he introduced himself to our team, I noted his friendly and calm nature.
Often a family will ask for a service with a little religion but not a vicar.
Simon fitted this brief on many occasions having been a minister who now works as a celebrant.
My families gave very good feedback which is key as you only get one chance to get it right particularly on a funeral.
They all felt Simon was very thorough and when they met with him, he picked up on the little details as they chatted and his calmness put them at ease.
He met with the families straight away often contacting the same day, so they weren’t getting anxious.
This also was the case in getting order of service content back particularly when there was a print deadline for service sheets.
