Whatever the occasion, each ceremony I lead is uniquely created because no two people are the same. Whether you are saying goodbye to a loved one, or 'I do' on your special day, the crafting of each ceremony starts in the same way, with a blank piece of paper and a conversation over a cuppa.

Hi, I'm Simon, an Independent Celebrant based in Hull and covering the surrounding area.
​
Before starting work as a celebrant I previously worked for thirteen years as a Baptist Minister leading churches in different areas of the UK. During my role as a minister, and then, latterly as a celebrant, I have journeyed with countless families through the joys and difficulties of life, offering pastoral support and a listening ear.
​
During this time I have conducted hundreds of services including funerals, memorial services, weddings, vow renewals and child dedications.
​
One of the things I enjoy most about my role as an Independent Celebrant is being able to sit and listen to stories about peoples lives, their hopes and dreams. We are all different, and my heart is to create a unique ceremony for every occasion.

MY SERVICES
Choosing a Celebrant-led ceremony gives you the freedom to mark a life event in a way that is meaningful to you and those closest to you. Whatever the ceremony, my role as a Celebrant is to listen to you so that together we can create something that it truly unique, memorable and special.

I have a vast experience in supporting families and individuals through the highs and lows of life and helping them to mark various life events. Whether it be Hawaiian Shirts at a Funeral (and playing a Kazoo), having my tie pulled at a Naming Ceremony or giving a couple the freedom to rock out to the Foo Fighters during their Wedding, I want to make your day special for you.

While I am a Christian, I offer both Religious and Non-Religious Ceremonies. The reality is, the most important person in this process is you, and so the planning of every ceremony starts with a conversation, ideally in person, giving me an opportunity to listen to you and your heart.

For many families it might seem scary to start with a blank piece of paper, yet doing so gives me the freedom to create a bespoke ceremony for every occasion. It is an immense privilege to journey alongside you during this process and I will be there to help, support and guide you every step of the way.
Naming Ceremonies
After the birth of a new born baby a naming ceremony is an ideal way to mark this new chapter in your lives.
